FIVE YEAR PLAN
Unitarian Universalist Church of Fargo Moorhead
Goals: 2002-2007
- Grow in size, and make appropriate organizational adjustments.
- Complete the building project.
- Expand youth offerings.
- Explore options and feasibility for professional religious leadership and proceed accordingly.
Action Plan
Year 1 (2002-2003)
- Celebrate FMUU's 50th anniversary.
- Consider Our Whole Lives sexuality curriculum for youth.
- Break ground for building addition.
- Work on nurturing membership to foster growth.
- Begin to broaden our role in the community.
- Familiarize the congregation with Commissioned Lay Leader program. (A possible direction should a candidate emerge.)
Year 2 (2003-2004)
- Dedicate new addition.
- Establish a youth group.
- Decide whether to advance any Commissioned Lay Leader candidates for training.
- Continue organizational adjustments to accommodate growth.
- Strengthen our community presence and social action. (Possibilities: Jubilee World II, Interweave, Peace advocacy, Eco-economy, Healthcare, Active Presence in Progressive Coalition, etc.)
Year 3 (2004-2005)
- Finish building interior.
- With the building project complete, embark on thorough 5 year strategic planning process.
- Consider paid youth director.
- Begin budget and organizational planning for professional leadership, whether CLL or minister.
- Expand youth and adult RE/activities.
- Celebrate 100th member.
Year 4 (2005-2006)
- Take next step in professional leadership, as per prior decisions.
Year 5 (2006-2007)
- Call minister or commission Lay Leader.
- Celebrate 150th member.
