UUA UNCOMMON DENOMINATION PROGRAM

 

Under the Uncommon Denomination Program, the UUA provides resources to congregations relating to growth. Materials are divided into four main sections. There are media advertising costs associated with the advanced sections (Tier 2 and Tier 3). The four sections are:

1. Hospitality and Belonging: This section offers resources on congregational hospitality, welcoming and belonging, including best practices from other congregations and materials that can be found online or purchased to help the congregation reach out and welcome newcomers.

2. Tier 1: This section offers resources on "in-reach" within the congregation Ð building stronger UU identity and awareness with the use of graphics and messages also used in the media resources (see Tiers 2 and 3 below). Resources are available at the UUA website (unless otherwise noted) and include :

3. Tier 2: The use of Tier 2 resources would require that additional funds be budgeted for local media. Examples include additional print ads and radio public service announcements.

4. Tier 3: This tier provides materials which would be used most frequently by the largest congregations or clusters of congregations working together. Examples include more print and radio advertising as well as television advertising and outdoor advertising (billboards).
