Davis Cope: Questions from the September 11 Tragedy

We are all shocked and stunned by the World Trade Center attack. It leaves us with questions: Why did it happen? What should individuals do as citizens or as Unitarians? What should the government do? What does the future hold? This talk will attempt to examine some of these questions. Don't expect any answers.

 

DECEMBER 9

Why I Am a UU — My Spiritual Path

Lynn Rust, Cheryl Bergian, Carrie Wintersteen, and Robert Olson will share their very different paths to Unitarian Universalism, and will lead us in a discussion about what it means to us as individuals and as a community to be Unitarian Universalists.

 

DECEMBER 16

Dan Goehring: Cultural Diversity, Difference, and Elitism: "The Samoan Twenty-Dollar Bill"

Dan is the Vice President for Academic Services at Fergus Falls Community College. He will draw from his experience as a Professor of Sociology in Pago Pago, American Samoa, as he explores the assumptions we easily make about "diversity," and what happens when those assumptions collide with reality.

 

DECEMBER 23

Intergenerational Solistice ⁄ Christmas Program

A combination Solistice ⁄ Christmas program for all ages, in which we will celebrate the return of the light to the world. Childcare is provided for the littlest ones if needed. There are no religious education classes today and for the next two weeks. Classes will resume on January 13.

 

DECEMBER 30

Intergenerational Song ⁄ Story Program

Bill Thomas joins the Program Committee in presenting a program of songs and stories for all ages. More details to follow... Childcare is again provided for the little ones if needed.
