Rev. Simeon Stefanidakis: "A Conversation on Christian Spiritualism"

Rev. Simeon Stefanidakis of the First Spiritual Temple, in Brookline, MA, joins us to share the work and message of the world's oldest Christian Spiritualist Church. Founded on June 28, 1883, the First Spiritual Temple's fundamental doctrine states that God is Spirit, we are Spirit, our departed loved ones are Spirit, our "enemies" are Spirit; and that is how we are all connected. With over 26 years as a pastor, Rev. Simeon will share with us the history and teachings of one world religion.

November 14

Briana Melom: "Fish Out of Water"

The first principle of Unitarian Universalism calls us to celebrate the value of every human life. In the midst of a volatile political environment, we may yearn for a sense of belonging and "like-mindedness." But in a denomination, which struggles in its efforts to welcome diversity, how do we build community when we disagree? Briana Melom is a licensed social worker who holds a master's degree in theology and the arts from United Theological Seminary. Formerly the director of education for the Mayo Clinic Alzheimer's Research Center, she currently serves as worship arts and young adult ministry coordinator at Unity Church - Unitarian in St. Paul, MN.

November 21

Dr. Craig Hanson of MSUM will share his pursuit of the life story of a saint and explore the requirements of holiness, considering the questions: What makes someone a saint? and What does it mean to be holy?
