Whether we grew up on the prairie or in the city, the connections between then and now run through our lives like the woof and warp of a weaving and examining those connections can reveal how we live out the lessons of our youth. Bill Vossler grew up in Wishek ND and tells stories informed by his life in rural North Dakota. Bill speaks at many UU churches and is returning to FMUU after a year's absence to weave a story sure to engage us all.

Sam Harris, author of The End of Faith, writes in his "An Atheist Manifesto": "When we have reasons for what we believe, we have no need of faith; when we have no reasons or bad ones, we have lost our connection to the world and to one another." Despite Harris' indictment of religion, there is still a place for faith in the world. Indeed, faith-believing without evidence-enriches our lives and our relationships.

Fargo City Councilwoman Linda Coates returns to FMUU to share her observations on recent local and national issues. Linda's lively intellect and first-hand perspective on the challenges of living progressive politics and civic religion are sure to engage and challenge us all.

Fargo native Andrea Hunter Halgrimson joins us to share her religious history and ours. Having lived in the same north Fargo neighborhood in which her parents, grandmothers and great grandmother also lived and as the long-time librarian of The Fargo Forum, Andrea Halgrimson has a deep understanding of Fargo history. She continues to write two columns for the newspaper and her history column, "As I Recall," recently featured a fascinating history of this Unitarian Universalist Church.
