This summer the church will offer an adult Religious Education course called Weaving the Fabric of Diversity. Summer adult RE courses are a wonderful way to continue the experience of UU community, deepen our relationships with church members and friends, and explore Unitarian Universalism in greater depth. "Weaving the Fabric of Diversity," like all our summer courses, is appropriate for both new and long-term members as well as for non-members wishing to explore UUism.
The eight-session course, co-facilitated by Kathleen Slobin and Jane Peterson, will be offered Tuesday evenings, beginning June 15, 7:00-9:30 p.m., in the UU Church sanctuary. The course will meet every Tuesday through August 3rd.
Participants are encouraged to attend all eight sessions if at all possible. However, if you need to miss a session (or even two) because of summer vacation or other plans, please do not let that be a barrier to participation.
A donation of $10 to cover copying and other incidental costs is requested. If you are not able to donate $10, please contribute at a level that feels affordable to you. A donation is not required for participation.
To register, please contact the church office at 235-0394 or fmuu@fmuu.org by June 8th. Child care will be available if requested, so please indicate if you will need child care.
"Weaving the Fabric of Diversity" is designed to help people recognize and overcome bias and celebrate diversity through telling their stories and listening to others. It engages participants in a variety of activities to examine and challenge ableism, racism, heterosexism, ageism, and classism in the safe, caring, and respectful environment of religious community.
